android 12 release date
Google has finally revealed its next version of Android called Android 12 to the public through developer beta 1. At Google I/O 2021 conference, they showcased the latest version with their new design “Material You” that is highly customizable and brings a completely revamped user interface. With this new release, Google has focused on privacy, design, tools, and more.

With the Android 12 beta build, Google has partnered with Asus, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Sharp, TCL, Xiaomi, Vivo, and ZTE to bring the beta version officially. The Android 12 beta update is currently available for Google's Pixel phones, from the Pixel 3 series to the Pixel 5.

If you don't have a Pixel phone, you can try the same design on the latest smartphone from partner brand including OnePlus, Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, Vivo and Asus.

What's new in Android 12?

After the release of Android 12 beta 1, these are the confirmed features to get the stable version according to Google.

After many years, Google has finally decided to change the visual overhaul of the Android operating system. With the release of Android 12, Google introduced Material You which brings color extraction from your installed background. This will automatically pick the color from your background to the entire system like contact list, settings, notifications, music, Google apps and many more.

New Android 12 Quick Tiles

Just like every release, Google has also redesigned the quick tiles in this Android 12 release as well. Yes, Google has finally removed the round icons and redesigned them with large text boxes that look beautiful, elegant and quickly accessible.

Fluid Motion and Animations

According to Google, this new version of Android 12 brings brand new animations and smooth motion that give a unique feel to the device. This is achieved through some subtle improvements including reducing the CPU time required for core system services by up to 22% and reducing the use of large cores by the system server by up to 15%.

Improvements to the notification list

With Android 12, Google has redesigned the layout of notifications to improve usability, functionality, and animations.

Not only does the Quick Settings area differ in look and feel. Redesigned to include Google Pay and home controls, while allowing for customization so you can have everything you need in one easy-to-access place. To find out more, click here

Privacy and security improvements

At Google I/O 2021, Google announced the new privacy system for Android 12 that makes Android more secure and transparent. It gives you more transparency about which apps access your data, and more controls so you can make informed choices about how much private information your apps can access.

One-Handed mode

When Google first launched the preview design, we saw Android switch to one-handed mode just like iOS. If you scroll down, you can activate the one-handed mode which makes it easier to access the device feature on a bulky phone. By swiping it brings the top half of the screen down allowing you to access buttons, icons, notifications, and more.

How to install Android 12 update on my phone?

For Pixel users from Pixel 3 to Pixel 5, you can simply download and run a burnable zip (Flash) file for Android 12 beta, or you can sign up for the Android 12 beta on your device.
