ImageTransport MD provides comprehensive DICOM support for creating applications that interface with devices and storage systems for CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, X-ray, ultrasound, film scanners, etc. It supports all of the services defined in the DICOM 3.0 standard, including:

Image transfer over networks
Creation of DICOM-compliant file sets

ImageTransport MD dramatically simplifies communications with DICOM Service Class Providers (SCPs). It supports all 32-bit Windows platforms and provides full functionality through both DLL and ActiveX interfaces.

ImageTransport MD In Relation To DICOM

The internals of the DICOM standard (shown in green, below) are managed by ImageTransport MD. The TCP/IP Network API is provided by the operating system. Accordingly, the developer is responsible for providing association and application data.

Complete Control Over DICOM Communications

Application developers can now rapidly prototype and test solutions from Visual C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, etc. Images acquired through the API can be processed with ImageGear MD. ImageTransport MD takes care of the finer details of DICOM network implementation, such as:

Automatic association negotiation, data element ordering and response to C-ECHO requests
Easy debugging - function names with full-error/warning/info logging, no hex codes required
Fault-tolerant message state machine and full Part 8 compliance
Extensive data validation across DIMSE commands, data elements, and sequences
